Ophcrack

System OperatingOphcrack is a program to recover passwords for Windows XP users and administrators. While other programs sonoin able to reset the password, Ophcrack can recover, albeit with some limitations. In fact, for the recovery of used tables (tables), only some of which are available free of charge.

As for Windows XP, Ophcrack, with tables available for free, you can recover passwords consist of letters and numbers, but not special characters, while for Vista (which has a password system more robust) the thing is difficult: it can only recover passwords through dictionary changes (unless you buy additional pay tables, but there are limitations).

The speed with which passwords are recovered is impressive, if you have a powerful processor, serve not more than 5 minutes.
Ophcrack can be installed on Windows, by using a bootable CD (if you want to recover the administrator password).

Cacheman XP, Optimized memory management and speed up system

On May 18, 2010, in Disk Tools, Utilities, by Freeware

Free download softwareProgram extremely useful for those who have a lot of RAM. Indeed manages the memory very efficiently, avoiding when possible and optimizing the use of virtual memory settings. With Windows XP, works much better than Cacheman 5.
You can download and use for free at any time, but it takes a little to configure optimally. For those who do not have time or do not know anything about the subject, or even want to support the company that produces this excellent program, you can buy the paid version which will automatically choose the most suitable parameters depending on our configuration.
Perhaps the direct rival O & O CleverCache is higher in the main function (just the management of physical memory and virtual), but is it a valid program.

Mz Ultimate Tweaker (Windows XP) and MzVista Force (Windows Vista)

It’s a program that optimizes a number of features of Windows XP and Windows Vista, compared to similar programs, the difference is that, besides being completely free-MzVista Force can change (and in theory speed) very many parameters, including that many default settings of Windows, processor speed, changing the programs that start automatically with the system (startup), the ability to shutdown the computer according to parameters chosen by us, backup and optimizer registry, and more.
The options that are suggested for improving performance (Performance Tweaks I and II) are already preset, however, you can vary them at will.
Mz Ultimate Tweaker MzVista Force and are completely free, something very rare for such programs.
My opinion remains that the benefits of these programs are difficult to measure, but it is true that this program is the XP version that Vista has really (remember that with programs that modify the default options of the system is always some risk, if you decide to experiment, you do it under your responsibility).
NOTE: After installation, start MzTweak to have a complete picture of the program, otherwise you run the other utilities one by one.
